There’s a party going on and you’re invited. It’s called your inspired life. It’s called stepping out of grim “reality,” the old way of seeing things and the prison bars of habit and self-inflicted limitation. It’s called reconnecting with your secret strength, invincible love, optimal thinking, and sudden clarity. You’re invited.
Here’s how the invitation shows up. It comes as a whisper, a hope, and a longing.  I wish I could just have some time to walk on the beach. I wish I could write and sell my novel. I have often been turned off by traditional marketing methods. While they work, many have struck me as ways of manipulating people to make a sale, pressuring people to buy, or convincing people they had a need. It seems like so much work! And yet I get people starting businesses all the time who ask me how to market themselves. The answer from the angels is pretty simple: 1) Be yourself rather than what you feel people expect of you, 2) Do what you love and are good at, and 3) Find a way to let people know what you are doing without any pressure – just share what you do. In simply radiating our light and love out to the world – however we do that best – people who need us can find us.

I’ll never forget when I started doing readings in a local bookstore. I was a psychic in the window on the slowest days of the week. Hardly anyone came in! I had just quit engineering and left behind a nice big salary and I was terrified about paying my bills. Furthermore, I made only about $6 after taxes for a 15 minute session even when someone did come in! I prayed very hard. The angels gave me two tools to build my entire business. Simple as they seem, they both worked.

The first was just a little meditation. They had me sit quietly every morning, feeling how much I loved to help people. As I felt the love for my work, they had me imagine the light in my heart radiating out in all directions. I would let the light build until I was floating in a bubble of radiant light. At that point they told me to simply say in my mind and heart, “If I can help you with my work, and you will honor the exchange, please find me.” People started walking into the bookstore saying, “I’m not sure why I am here, but I think you can help me.” I knew I had connected with their soul and that the interaction would serve us both. Talk about angel marketing! Heaven always seeks to bring us mutually beneficial partnerships whether business or personal.

The second tool was gratitude. After each client the angels tasked me to drop into my heart and feel gratitude for the ability to serve that person. “Thank you God for allowing me to serve this soul. I am ready to help the next one.” They asked me to say this after each client. Discussions of money were not allowed in these prayers. Instead they suggested I focus on my soul’s true gratitude. I did love helping people so that was easy. As I focused on the service, rather than the money, two magical things happened. I felt rich because I was able to share my gifts with people and in this vibration people sensed that they would receive help. Secondly when I removed money from the discussion, fear went away as well. In the absence of fear, business picked up. Soon the two slowest days of the week became the two busiest days. Love is what built my business, not strategy, manipulation, glossy ads, or any sort of conventional means. Just plain love.

I also taught one-person classes when I started teaching. The angels taught me to value these experiences. We cannot judge the value of our work by the magnitude. We have to simply ask, “Am I doing what feels right in my heart. Am I sharing of my true self?” If so you are already right in God’s eyes. I needed to start small to grow in confidence, to refine my teaching style, and to begin in humility. Had I not done that I would not be able to teach the masses now.

So if you are starting a business or a project that involves others, center yourself in the love within you. Focus on the service and the joy of serving. And if you cannot find the joy, question whether or not you are doing what you are doing for the right reasons. It is your love and your joy that are the true abundance in the world. It is the ability to share of the God light within you that is the richest possession you have. In sharing of your time, talent, kindness, inspiration, or even simply your prayers, you make the world a better place… simply because you are in it. This is the true wealth that we all long for, and funny… when you feel rich with the ability to share, the universe somehow meets the rest of your needs as well.

What Does Inspiration Feel Like?

What does God feel like? What does the flow of pure creative energy feel like? How can you identify and know inspiration when it strikes?

Why Dorothy, you feel it all the time you just haven’t been paying attention!

First you get a feeling, a feeling of potential.  Usually you have a feeling that you just have to do something. You just have to write this song, cook this recipe, quit your job, start a business, call this person, try this color, go down that road, listen to that CD.  You get the idea.

Inspiration is an inner intuition, a feeling that must be expressed.  The trick is not to deny that feeling.  Too many times I walked past the door of inspiration, I mean, right on past it!  The door of inspiration sometimes is very small, very easy to write off, especially in a dead serious society, such as ours.  Too many times we mistake our inspiration as goofing off or frivolous exploration, not realizing that it is this very playful exploration that will lead us to where we need to be.  We are too busy listening to our heads instead of our hearts.

When inspiration really starts to flow.  Usually it flows so fast that you can’t keep up. You will feel pulled or compelled to do several things at once.  You will feel excited and energized, an ‘I can’t wait to..” feeling will come over you.

When this happens it is best to write down your initial inspirations.  You may find yourself scribbling wildly as I am writing this very paragraph.  Soon you will feel compelled to act and act you will.


Joy is the door to inspiration

Joy is truly the door to inspiration.  Unfortunately, in our society Joy is frowned upon as frivolous and not serious enough to warrant our attention.  But inspiration cannot happen outside of a state of Joy.  Therefore joy and inspirations are inseparable.

Joy really is the key.  By joy I mean that fun, alive, totally free feeling where we feel protected and like a child again.  That feeling of falling down in the snow and laughing your heart out as you roll down a hill.

Whenever we can experience true joy, our hearts open up and the love and light of God can begin to move though us unimpeded.   When we are experiencing joy we are in the best condition to be inspired.

You are at one with God when you feel and express true Joy.  Joy is love energy being expressed.  When you are expressing love in a truly selfless, unconditional way you will feel joy.  Joy is the feeling of giving or receiving love.  Think about all the times you felt truly joyous.  Not just excited, but truly joyous.  Imagine spinning a child around and around as they giggle and laugh expressing a truly joyous moment with you.  This is the kind of joy I am talking about.

Inspiration, the door to a more meaningful and abundant life

Inspiration is a door to a much more meaningful, fulfilling and abundant life.  No matter what your status or education or situation, inspiration is a door that all of us can go through to a larger world full of hope and possibility.  The thing is most people have no clue about this.  They see glimpses of it when they have an impulsive inspired feeling or idea but they usually quickly dismiss the feeling as nothing more than just a passing fancy.  They let what I call the ‘inner critic’ talk them out of it.  The sad part is, that by not following this inspirational energy they have cut themselves off from the very thing that could get them out of their problems and to the life they really want.  I see this happening all the time, I do it too but now when I recognize inspiration I have a reverence for it and I have learned to ignore the ‘inner critic.’    It is such a simple thing actually.  What many people don’t understand is that this energy is everything.  If they really knew what being touched by this energy meant they would jump up and down and thank God because to be touched by this energy is a true gift from Heaven.   Step one is to understand that when you feel inspired it is so much more that just a good feeling, it is basically God coming over and saying ‘Hey want to play?   But even if you understand this intellectually the real key is to know what it feels like because it is the feeling recognition of this energy that is most important.  See, when you are inspired it’s an energy flow.  This is again, not just a good feeling your body happens to be having that day.  This energy is God’s creative energy, which is basically love energy.  This conscious energy is creative and has intelligence. This is why when you feel inspired you feel pregnant, like you ‘just have to get it out.’  You also have a feeling that you can’t get it out fast enough and the reason this is, is because you are a channel for this energy, it is not coming from you but through you.  All you really have to do is get out of the way.  Since this is love energy you will feel joyous when you let this energy flow through you.  This is why you feel so good expressing it.  It’s similar to the way that a light bulb lights up as electricity passes through it.  Inspirational energy is all ‘want to’ there is nothing you ‘should do’ or ‘have to do’ with this energy. All we ‘have to’ do is let it flow.

When inspirational energy is flowing you do not want to stop, everything in you wants to let it flow.  Time stops as you enter the moment.  You feel pulled by some invisible force. And you are being pulled, guided towards a higher destiny.  The thing is that the smallest and simplest situation can be the catalyst for inspiring you.  It is important that when you are inspired you go with it.  Many times we judge the form of the inspiration not realizing that it will evolve into higher and higher forms.  We let the inner critic talk us into closing off the flow.

For example, you might, while driving have a feeling to stop in a particular store, or to cook a certain dish or to pick up a pencil and start to draw something.  One day you might get the urge to build something or make something, you don’t know why, you just feel like it.  Well, that’s inspiration.  But what usually happens?  The inner critic steps in and says, all kinds of negative things like:

‘What are you thinking, you don’t have time for that.’  or

“You can’t cook’ or

‘You can’t afford to spend money making such and such.’ or

‘What makes you think you can do such and such.’

You get the idea.  The trick is to ignore that voice and do whatever you feel inspired to do anyway.  Follow the energy and let it flow and go along for the ride.  Of course that will require faith and trust and for you to let-go of expectations but don’t worry it will be a wonderful adventure that will take you to exactly where you need to be.

But what is inspiration exactly?

To be inspired means to trust your instincts and to move into that space that is interesting, fun and alive!  In other words inspiration is a state of pure joy! Inspiration is God’s creative energy moving though you, God using you, God playing you as the most beautiful and unique musical instrument that you are.  The goal is to let go and let God make beautiful music with you and the best way for that to happen is for you not to block his energy as it flows through you.  When you feel stifled, that is fear, which is an energy block.  When you feel joy, then God’s creative energy can flow fully and freely towards its purpose and destiny!

Too many people in our world walk around thinking of life as this miserable joyless thing that must be tolerated and put up with. They are so far from the truth!  The truth is no matter what our situation, God wants us to live truly happy and joyous lives.  And this is the best thing we can leave our children in life because life is what joy is.

Inspirational energy is like electricity flowing though wires.  It is not the electrons in the wires but the flow of the electrons that causes things to move and light up.  So it is too with the inspirational energy of God moving though us, causing us to be powerful creative instruments in the world.  When you get that energy flowing, everything else will fall into place.  The more you allow this energy to flow the more joy you feel in life! And the more joy you feel in life, the more this energy can flow!  Well that sounds easy, yes, but there is one problem – FEAR!  Beware of fear, for fear is the true enemy!   Fear blocks your connection to God and his creative energy!  Love and fear are the two dynamic primal forces in the universe.  God is love and love is God and inspiration is actually a higher form of love being expressed, from God to you and through you to the world!  When you live your purpose by expressing inspiration to the world, you are creating in the fullest sense of the word and when you create in this way, you are an artist in the fullest sense of the word!  None of this would be possible without God.  For some this may come as a shock.  But believe me, it is true.  God, or whatever you want to call him – a Higher Power, the Universe, the Super Conscious – is the magic ingredient in our lives, and without him, true inspiration would not be possible.

A Review of the documentary film SurfWise directed by Doug Pray.
Like many American outsider-adventurers, Dorian “Doc” Paskowitz set out to realize a utopian dream. Abandoning a successful medical practice, he sought self-fulfillment by taking up the nomadic life of a surfer. But unlike other American searchers like Thoreau or Kerouac, Paskowitz took his wife and nine children along for the ride, all eleven of them living in a 24 foot camper. Together, they lived a life that would be unfathomable to most, but enviable to anyone who ever relinquished their dreams to a straight job. The Paskowitz Family proved that America may be running out of frontiers, but it hasn’t run out of frontiersman.

My Review: This movie was really interesting as it shows what happens when one jumps out of the system.  Can they survive? Absolutely.  If you want to watch a film that really discusses this, then this is a good one to check out. I am not totally condoning Dr. Paskoqitz lifestyle, I feel he curses too much in the film and takes life down to a kind of primitive tribal level.  But, I do think the film has something to teach about what it means to ditch the system.  I wish he had talked more about his transformation.  The film is mostly from his kids point of view and I guess that’s because it was produced by one of them.  Judge for yourself. It’s definitely an eye opener.  Warning it is rated R for language and sexuality, not for children which says a lot right there.  If a philosophy is true would it be R rated? Dream big and small

My dear friends, we love you so very much.

So many of you are waiting for God to tell you what to do with your lives, and yet dear ones, you can find the answers right within your own heart. What is it you want to do? What is it you want to create? You may have very big dreams, such as I want to help end world hunger, or create a big vacation, or have the relationship of my dreams. Or your immediate dreams may be quite small – you may want a wonderful sandwich for lunch at a price you can easily afford. Whatever your dreams, focus there with what is in your heart. Give your dreams and desires acknowledgement, dear friends, for no wish, no dream, is frivolous in the eyes of God. If you want the sandwich it is because you want to take care of both your body and your finances. If you want the vacation it is because your soul seeks respite or adventure. If you want the relationship it is because you wish to love and be loved.

Do not judge your wishes and dreams for none is ‘better’ or ‘worse’ than another. All dreams, all wishes, truly at their core, are wishes to experience the love of God in your lives or to express the very same. All wishes and dreams are movements towards greater love. All wishes and dreams, when acknowledged with honesty, starting inside of yourselves, create movement and growth.

Do not hesitate to acknowledge your dreams for fear of disappointment. Do not stop yourself from dreaming because you have no idea how you can have what it is you want. Do not block your hearts dear friends because every time you do so, you block up the flow of love in the universe. When you open your hearts, acknowledge your dreams, feel your feelings, and allow God’s grace to rush into you, through you, and out into the world. It is your vibration of excitement, acknowledgment, and anticipation that will draw good unto you. Hopelessness, despair, disillusionment… those are vibrations that do not create any movement whatsoever.

If you feel disconnected from your hearts, stagnant, or in despair, get moving physically. Truly dear ones, just allowing energy to move through your bodies, will create movement in your souls. Take a nice walk in nature. Stretch a little bit, within your body’s capacity. Breathe slowly and deeply, if nothing else, and allow yourself to feel God rushing through you. As your winter moves towards spring, the life force within you wants to get moving again, much as the sap within the trees begins to flow when the weather warms. The trees in winter dream of their budding in the spring. So too you can dream of the growth you wish for in this coming year. You can dream of the things you want to create in your life. The trees do not know how their buds will be called forth. Instead it is in their very makeup and genetic program to respond to the impulses of weather and sunlight to do so. So too, dear ones, you do not need to know how your dreams will be called forth in your own life. You only need acknowledge them and trust that it is in your soul’s makeup and program to respond to the impulses of the universe when they are given.

So take time while it is still winter, to go into the stillness, and dream your dreams, for to acknowledge your own hearts is to acknowledge God’s plan and movement for your lives.

Feel Good Now, It is Important!

In this video, Abraham talks about why how you feel in this moment is the most important thing, and how it creates your future.  How this moment is everything and everything in the future is created from it.  This is so true!  Usually we feel like victims of circumstances, trapped in our situations not realizing that it’s a continually created thing.   And how many times do we sacrifice the moment for tomorrow thinking that tomorrow will be better.  Then tomorrow we do the same thing.  Anyway, they say it better so have a listen.  Please leave a comment sharing what what you think.
