How to understand, find and live your life purpose

Realize your connection to God and God’s plan for your life.  This plan is also your soul’s plan.  When you came to Earth you had a plan for how you would express God’s love here.

To trust is the foundation, understanding that there is a divine plan or dream for your life.

But you must understand that although you will be afraid, you can’t find this dream from a place of fear.   Love not fear is the path to finding this dream.  So the true foundation under the other foundations it that God loves you.  And from that place you must realize that you are taken care of, that you truly live in God’s grace.  These are major points to get across.  If you don’t realize that it starts with trust and knowing that God is there for you in every aspect of your life then you will be fearful and being fearful, it will be difficult for you to find the path that you seek.

Joy and play are clues to your path.  But if you don’t understand that you are taken care of then these joys and moments of play will be overshadowed by dark clouds of fear and foreboding.   You will be frightened about the next problem to come down the road.  So discovering our dream has to start with faith and trust.  Then we can proceed in a relaxed and peaceful way to understanding what our mission here on earth is.

What is God’s plan for our lives?  Everyone does have a plan. This is also a major point hat must be made.  Many people feel that they are not important, that their lives are meaningless and serve no purpose.   But your life does serve a purpose and it is important!  We are all God’s children.  This is a noble and important fact.  Now some religions want you to believe that you are an evil fallen creature that is not good enough for God.  From a certain perspective this is true.  We are all journeying up the road of perfection on our way home again.  But that does not mean that we are to feel bad about ourselves and focus on our lack of perfection.  Fear and guilt will not get us to Heaven.  Instead the path is to make more perfect that which is not perfect.  To always seek greater perfection.  And we do this though expressing love for our fellow man as well as the other living creatures on the planet.  Love is the way to heaven. How does all this affect our life purpose.  Our truest dream is God’s dream for our lives, which is our souls truest dream for our lives. And this dream is our life purpose.  This dream is greater than any dream we could ever imagine.  This dream has to be separated from ego or false dreams, the limited dreams and aspirations of man that usually revolve around our survival.  Our power comes from being connected to God’s grace and love and letting God’s love for the world move though us as freely as possible.   Therefore our purpose is to live God’s dream for our lives in the world as freely as possible.  There are three aspects to this.

1.  There is understanding this whole idea.   Many do not. (Awakening)

2.  Then to discover our life purpose. (Discovering)

3.  And finally to life our life purpose by sharing God love with the world. (Living)

There are many out there who want you to believe in the adage “Do what you love and the money will follow.” The idea that one had to first find their dream on their own and then figure out a way to make a living at it and then they would be happy.  This is incorrect.  First comes the happiness which comes with a realization that God loves you.   Then comes the understanding that God has a plan for your life, a greater dream.  Then we will want to share that love as much as possible with the world.  Thoughts about how to make a living and how to make money will only block the flow of God’s love. Give these things as little thought as possible because they are inherently fearful.   Trust is the key.   It is also better to share your love with the world in the most unconditional way possible.  This is scary and does not make sense from a worldly perspective, but it is the best way.  Do not concern yourself with survival issues.  Once you realize God’s dream for you life you will become aware of all the Heavenly help that is available to you.  Then you will not feel so alone and you will feel free to help others without being overly concerned about your own well-being.

Focus on others. How can you help them?  What can you do for them?  Always believe in the unlimited not the limited, because it is from the unlimited that all things come.

This path is a path of discovery where every step of the way it is revealed what God’s plan or dream for you life is.   This journey can take a day or a lifetime.   But is essential that you become couscous of this process.   The more conscious you are of this process the easier and faster it can happen.   Some times this is delayed because there are things you need to learn that you would not want to learn if you knew the overall vision for your life.  But if you approach every situation as a lesson to help you then you can speed things up, because as soon as you have learned what you needed to learn you will be released from that lesson plan so to speak.  So each step of they way more and more will be revealed and you will be equipped with more and more tools to help you along the way.  Joy is a beacon and so is love and play and how you feel.

Once you understand what your purpose is, the next essential part is to start sharing that with the world as much as possible in as many ways as possible and as unconditionally as possible.  Let the energy, love energy, God’s energy, flow out to the world.   This is why it is important in the beginning to know that you are taken care of.    When you fully embrace your purpose you will be are transformed from a human being to a human angel on Earth.   This is a very important step because now we can assist in the creation of Heaven on earth.   This is done with the power of love as express by your purpose.   When you’re living in alignment with this divine plan for you life you will be as happy as you can be because nothing feels better than to do God’s work.  You will feel complete and whole like this is what you were born for and it’s true, it is what you were born for.  When you are not doing this work you will always feel the angst, that something is just not quite right.

Not to worry there is lots of help to help you find that place and there is no reason everyone on earth can’t find this place.

Once your realize your life purpose, once your realize that you are doing what you came to earth to do.  Then you will naturally want to share it as much as possible.  It’s just built into you.  You will want to share it.  The problem is people become overly concerned with their survival and then the energy becomes stifled.  A contraction occurs so to speak.  This is where trust comes in.  We have to remember we are taken care of and this is a difficult thing to do on earth.  This is why it is vitally important at this point to live in the spirit and to depend on God for all things.  If you try to live your purpose but depend on the world to do it you will only have failure. So a good spiritual foundation is essential.

Do not go back to the old way of depending on the world.

Pray and meditate as much as needed until you find that place of peace where you know without-a-doubt that you are taken care of.

So sharing is the next part, share your love with the world because that is what your dream, your purpose is–love, the form does not matter, in the end it is love, God’s love going though you, into the world in what ever form it takes.  Our dream, our art, our love… to be effective it must be shared.   And we do not just share it conditionally, for only fame or fortune, to get rich or for what we can gain.  Because love needs nothing, it only goes out to do good in the world.

We must share our dream with no thought of return.  This is the only way to maximizes the benefits to others.  And this is the purpose of our life here to help make the world a better place,

…to bring — Heaven to earth.

Kill Your To-Do List

Post written by Leo Babauta. Follow me on Twitter.

Most people reading this will have a to-do program, or a paper list or text file, listing not only projects and tasks but separate lists for home and work and possibly half a dozen different contexts.

Those who don’t have a to-do list probably feel they should, because they’re swamped and feeling overwhelmed.

I’m here to suggest: kill your to-do list.

It sucks up your time, and drains your motivation. Those who have to-do lists usually manage them constantly, or if they don’t they fall into disuse and get dusty and become worthless, while the person who’s fallen behind in maintaining the list feels constantly guilty. For those who keep up with the lists, they spend a lot of time on the lists they could be spending … doing something important.

And what of these lists? They’re long, you never get to the end of them, and half the time the tasks on the list never get done. While it feels good to check items off the list, it feels horrible having items that never get checked off. This is all useless spending of mental energy, because none of it gets you anywhere.

The only thing that matters is the actual doing.

So what’s a better system?

The One Thing System

Here’s what I do, and highly recommend to anyone willing to break free of the to-do list:

  1. I wake up in the morning, and decide what One Thing I’m excited about.
  2. Then I focus on doing that, pushing everything else aside, clearing distractions, and allowing myself to get caught up in the moment.

I don’t worry what else is on my list, because there’s only One Thing on my list. I don’t have to check anything off, because I don’t actually have a list. I don’t have to worry about things not getting done, because I do the only thing I want to do — if I didn’t want to do it, it wouldn’t be my One Thing.

If I happen to finish my One Thing early, I can slack off for the rest of the day (my favorite strategy), or I can pick my next One Thing.

But … but …

What about the other things you need to do? What if you forget them?

Make a list of possible things to do, if you like, or routine tasks that need to get done for one reason or another. I would consider eliminating as many things as possible on the routine list, as they tend to just be friction that stops you from doing what you really want to do. If you do make a list, don’t consider it a to-do list, of things you need to check off. Just keep it as a reminder, and don’t spend any time other than adding things to it and possibly checking it once a day.

Even this list isn’t necessary, but I only suggest it here for those who don’t feel safe without it. If you really don’t want to forget something, you can put a reminder on your calendar. I suggest avoiding this when possible, but if I need to send out payments once a month, I’ll put a reminder on my calendar. It’s not that complicated.

For the important things, you tend to know what you really want to get done. If you’re a writer, you know what you want to write, usually. If you’re a designer, you already have an idea of what you’re excited about working on. You don’t need a list. You just need to forget about the list, and get working.

Kill your to-do list, and forget about all the things you need to do … except the One Thing you’re passionate about, right now.

Money is not the key to happiness!

Good. Now I am glad we got that straight because see, if we didn’t, than this whole thing would be for nothing.  I mean you would go and read this blog and just head off in the wrong direction.  This myth of money equaling happiness is so strong and so pervasive in our culture that we never ever question its validity.  But trust, me it’s true.  Do we need money, yes.  Is money a tool, yes.  But that’s it.  Your happiness comes from another place and you don’t need to get a million dollars to find it.  And this blog is about helping you get in touch with that place.

My new blog!

Hey, hello, welcome to my new blog. I have been planning to do this for awhile now and it is finally done.  This will be the place where I put all of the Dream Power writings I have collected over the last ten years.  I used to have them at MyDreamPower.com but the old style web format was too cumbersome.  Now with a word press blog we can organize the writings much better.  So stay tuned!
